No matter what you think of Sean Hannity, this segment on Fox News is instructive.
Hannity invited a world champion shooter to demonstrate various calibers of weapons. You will see that the AR-15 is far less lethal than other common weapons that are not suggested for bans.
Hannity, of course, is anti-Obama and anti-gun control, but the demonstration seems even-handed.
