Support versus Effectiveness
This week President Trump indicated he would support banning so-called “bump stocks” for AR-15 style rifles, that allows shooters to fire rounds faster than they would otherwise.
The bump-stock, which was little known before the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, is not very popular among gun owners partly because, they say, using a bump stock compromises accuracy.
And gun safety experts say a ban would do little to reduce gun violence.
